BEST OF AUGUST 2K14

Meeting my new twin nephews, seeing my other niece and nephew, death in the family, Baby Ben’s cake smash, dentist, Wife back to work, Dad finish work, a school reunion wedding.

Best album of recent times
Dierks Bentley - Home (2012)
Diesel – Into The Fire (2014) (Robert (Bad Company) Hart & Jim (FM) Kirkpatrick
Brett Eldredge - Bring You Back (2013)
Electric Boys – Starflight United (2014)
Florida Georgia Line - Here's To The Good Times (2012)
Maxx Explosion - Forever (2014)
Red Dragon Cartel - Red Dragon Cartel
Sonata Arctica - Pariah's Child (2014)
The Treatment – Running With The Dogs (2014)
The Trews – The Trews (2014)
Von Hertzen Brothers – Nine Lives (2013)
Yes – Heaven & Earth (2014) CD

I’m liking the Electric Boys, Treatment, Trews.
The latest Yes album didn’t register straight away as there’s no real hooks, but it did grow on me after a few listens.
Von Hertzen Brothers – Nine Lives is great but wanders into psychedelic territory here and there unlike Sonata Arctica - Pariah's Child (2014) which is a strong album with catchy hooks and strong themes and vocals.

Best best of album
Stevie Nicks, Stevie Crystal Visions - The Very Best of Stevie Nicks (1981-2001)

Gig of the Month
No gigs. If I would have gone to 1 it would have been Eric (Mr Big) Martin Acoustic.

Cinema film of the Month
The Inbetweeners 2 was funny
But Guardians Of The Galaxy was aaaawesome!

Film on TV
Despicable Me 2
Sharknado 2: The Second One
Monster’s University
Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters
Night Of The Creeps (1986)
R.I.P.D.
Absenyia
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2
One Chance
Cabin Fever: Patient Zero

Sharknado 2 was cheesy fun but possibly the most normal film up there was the one I enjoyed the most: Man On A Ledge

Top purchase
Conservatory blinds (to stop the riff-raff looking in)

September has 5 days off work, 1 gig, a trip to the zoo, spa, and an emigration party.
