Tuesday night over a week ago saw me returning to the refurbed Rescue Rooms. This time I ventured up the new indoors stairs to the balcony.
First up was It Bites, an 80’s progressive pop band with John Mitchell (Arena, John Wetton, Frost) replacing the original vocalist /guitarist and Lee Pomeroy (Rick Wakeman,Take That) on bass.
I didn’t know too much about them but I liked what I heard. I might look into getting some stuff (downloaded of course now that I’m a money/space saver).
I’ve been seeing Mostly Autumn on and off for the past 12 years and they always put on a good show. I did enjoy seeing them once again but there seemed something missing for me. Maybe because it was the first time I’d seen then without the original female vocalists, or maybe it was the room I was in (the sounds been better at other venues in the past).
Songs like Evergreen, Passengers, Dark before The Dawn, The Last Climb, Heroes Never Die got me in a nostalgic feeling as I said goodbye to possibly seeing them again (for other reasons too that will see my gig viewing go down), although don’t quote me on that.
