Alice Cooper

Tuesday 30th

I put on the spookiest shirt I could find, gave my hair a rock boost and headed to town to meet up with 2 others and see what crazy costumes some people would slip into just to see the legend of shock rock (which is more pantomime than shock really).

But first up were a couple of well known support bands.

DUFF McKagan’s Loaded are a bit to punky for me but watchable. Best song for most was probably the GnR song It's So Easy.

I saw UGLY KID JOE in Sweden so this was just a bonus extra for me. The antics of vocalist Whitfield Crane is always good fun and he didn’t disappoint. He even brought a child from the audience up on stage to join in the rock n roll fun.
Set list:
Panhandlin' Prince
Milkman's Son
Cats in the Cradle
I'm Alright
Everything About You

I think it’s been about 7 years since I last saw ALICE COOPER. Far too long so I was really looking forward to this one.
Faithfull guitarist Ryan Roxie is still in the band and is joined by 3 other string pluckers including Australian Orianthi who was fantastic and she looked rather nice too.
A good heap of songs came from the classic 70s period with some nice additions like House of Fire, He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask), Hey Stoopid and brand newies Caffine, The Congregation and I'll Bite Your Face Off.
The songs are good enough on their own but Alice always puts on a show and this one didn’t disappoint with antics such as handing out billion dollar Alice notes (Billion Dollar Babies), diamond necklaces (Dirty Diamonds), being attacked and put in a straight jacket (Ballad of Dwight Fry), a rogue photographer being attacked by Jason from Friday the 13th (Man Behind The Mask), being electrocuted and turned into a 8 foot Alice Zombie (Feed My Frankenstein) and throwing out giant balloons filled with glitter with a finale of exploding shiny things falling from the sky.
Oh and the snake on stage that looked like it was about to strangle him :o
The guitarists cerography was also well done. You could have taken a photo at any point and they would have all looked like super cool rock stars.

Song highlights for me included House of Fire, Be My Lover, Billion Dollar Babies, Hey Stoopid, Ballad of Dwight Fry, Go to Hell, He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask), I'm Eighteen, Under my Wheels.

The whole event was brilliant and I hope he returns soon :)
