It’s not too often now that I want to see support bands. But this one was a right corker.
Trillium are a band with the brilliant Amanda Sommerville on vocals. She’s an American singer-songwriter and vocal coach best known for her work with Avantasia, Epica, Kamelot andMichael Kiske. Not only has she got a great pair of lungs on her but she also has a great pair of lungs on her ;)
It was great to see her and her talented band an hope I get a few repeat performances in the years to come.

Machine Gun
Into the Dissonance
Set a Fire (Kiske/Sommerville cover)
Utter Descension
Bow to the Ego

After catching up with some good Sweden Rock Festival chums we were ready for a bit of melodic rock from Magnum. This was my 7th viewing in the last 10 years and once again they have a new album whose songs can stand up with the classics over their 34 year recording history.
Bob Catley’s vocals seemed a little more gruff to me than on other occasions, but he still shone through with his cheeky face and waving arm. Guitarist Tony Clarkin has a lot to be proud of with this band performing his songs. Not bad for a couple of 65 year olds.
Long may they continue, because Magnum are magnificent.

All The Dreamers
When We Were Younger
Blood Red Laughter
Wild Angels
Brand New Morning
How far Jerusalem
The Flood
Les Morts Dansant
The Spirit
Dance of the Black Tattoo
All My Bridges
All England's Eyes
Kingdom of Madness
See How They Fall
Rockin' Chair
Days of No Trust
