BEST OF 2012

This year I:
Had a birthday and a face that looked sunburnt due to an food reaction.
Saw various members of my soon to be extra close family.
Entertained American visitors, got married, went on honeymoon.
Stayed on a continuous high from the wedding and thudding back down to earth with work and plan making.
Continued home improvements with a shed for the rabbits, decorating the living room and tidying the driveway with a fence.
Social events which were good, but mostly working, watching TV and looking at ways to get fit in the house and garden (when not pissing it down) while waiting for the sun to come out. Then for the last few days I had sickness and the squits :o
A month of family and holidays.
Holiday at Butlins, seeing my niece & nephew for the 1st time in about 6 years, a BBQ at mine for 11 of my family, a nice Spa and splash day, attended a BBQ for an newly turned 18 year old (bro-in-law).
Gigs, beer, work, big gigs and house improvement planning
Meals, gigs, sprucing up the house and planning on other sprucing.
Visited an ickle baby (belonging to K’s sister) and preparing for Crimbo :)

The Highwaymen - Highwayman (1985) / Highwayman 2 (1990) / The Road Goes On Forever (1995) A band featuring the country legends of Cash-Jennings-Kristofferson-Nelson.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked The Highwaymen (featuring country stars Cash-Jennings-Kristofferson-Nelson) and I also like the progish Von Hertzen Brothers – Approach (2006) and the slick production and music of the AOR Work of Art - Art Work (2008).
But this year I liked a nice mix of styles from Australian prog band Unitopia More - Than A Dream (2005)

The Cabin In The Woods - A film explaining why that if all other horror films were real the reason why it was those monsters attacking those people in those locations. A very Joss (Whedon) film, could have easily fit into an later series of Angel.
Marvel's Avengers Assemble - I wasn’t sure what direction it was going to take in some places but Joss Whedon and all involved pulled it out of the hat. Good screen time for everyone and an oddly funny role for Mr Hulk.
The Muppets was fantastic. Some of it was nostalgia but it also had to be made well and it was.

And a special mention to Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day wasn’t a movie as such but enjoyable to watch with the middle aged fellas.
